Data-Source Methodology
Snap Israel combines owner submissions, public business information, user corrections and directory-team research, then normalises records into searchable listings by business, category and place.
Published statistics describe Snap Israel records at a specific time. They do not claim to measure every business operating in Israel.
Sources
Records may originate from a business owner, an existing public business website or social profile, a map or location service, a public register, a reputable directory source, direct contact, or a correction submitted by a visitor. Source-directory URLs used for internal auditing are not automatically published.
Record normalisation
We standardise common fields such as business name, telephone, website, email, street address, city or region, coordinates, category, description, images and opening hours. Missing information is left blank rather than invented. Descriptions may be rewritten for clarity and originality without changing the underlying facts.
Location and map handling
A location label such as a campus or shopping centre is kept separate from the street address when possible. Map coordinates should correspond to the navigable street address, not merely the centre of a city, park or venue label. Listings that serve an area without a customer-facing address should be represented as service-area businesses.
Duplicate detection
Potential duplicates are compared using normalised names and spellings, phone numbers, email addresses, website domains, physical addresses and geographic proximity. Strong matches can be consolidated; conflicting matches are held for manual review.
Research and downloads
The Directory Research page calculates aggregate counts from currently published listings. Its CSV contains category and region totals, not a bulk export of business contact or personal information. Counts can change as records are added, corrected, consolidated or archived.
Limitations
Directory information can be incomplete, user supplied or out of date. Category and location coverage is uneven, and a count is not evidence of market size or quality. Important facts should be confirmed directly with the business.
