Island, whose enterprise browser is relied on by very large organizations worldwide, needs a Test Development Manager for its Quality Group in Tel Aviv. The job is a player-coach position: you run a team of Test Development Engineers and own its strategy and delivery, while still spending real time in the code. That means you design tests, review automation and join the engineers in debugging.

What you will do

  • Lead and develop the team, with responsibility for hiring, onboarding, performance and careers.
  • Own test strategy for your area, including coverage, priorities, the automation roadmap and readiness for release.
  • Plan the team's work in line with R&D delivery, and speak for quality in planning and release decisions.
  • Remain hands-on by designing, writing and reviewing both manual and automated tests, and by debugging problems in test suites and in the customer-facing product.
  • Find new ways to test, including AI coding tools and agents, in order to shorten test cycles and lift product quality.
  • Learn how enterprise customers use the product and in what environments, then base test plans on those real situations.
  • Report quality status, risks and trends clearly to engineering and product leaders.

What you need

  • 4+ years as the manager of a QA or test development team, with hiring and performance management among your duties.
  • 6+ years of practical test design, manual and automated.
  • Practical use of AI coding tools and agents, such as Claude Code or Cursor, for writing, debugging and maintaining test code.
  • A proven record of creating test automation for an enterprise product and growing it to scale.
  • Good planning and prioritizing, and the ability to work with product, support and R&D.
  • The ability to explain quality risk clearly to engineers and to leadership.

Nice to have

  • A background in testing security, endpoint or browser-based products.
  • A degree in computer science or a related field.
